Here at The Well we are compelled by the Great Commission to GO and make disciples. It is insufficient to stay in our bubbles of comfort and safety because that isn't what Jesus did. We imitate Him by going to the least, the last and the lost-- right here in Tuscaloosa and all over the world.

This is why our ministry teams exist. Ministry teams exist to utilize your
gifts, passions, and abilities to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those who have yet to meet their Maker.

As well, we want to help serve our congregation at Calvary Tuscaloosa by utilizing our gifts to build up the local
body of believers given to us! This is why our serve teams exist. Join us to help create a welcoming environment for our congregation to gather together and worship the Lord!

Our Outreach + Ministry Teams

The Brown House

Days to Serve: M-Th, 2:30-4:30pm
Build relationships with kids through after-school tutoring, reading, and playtime in the Brown House community in downtown Northport. 

Kids' Club @ McKenzie Court

Days to Serve:  Tuesdays & Fridays, 3:00-5:00pm
Build intentional relationships with kids in the West End community of Tuscaloosa through age-group playtime and Bible stories. Meet in the college space
to carpool at 2:45pm. 

S. D. Allen Ministry

Days to Serve:  Fridays, 2:00-5:00pm
Pick up or deliver furniture to meet the physical needs of lower-income families in Tuscaloosa while also building intentional relationships through deliveries to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Meet at the S.D. Allen Ministry and Missions building.

International Connect

Days to Serve: Th, 8:00-9:30pm
Invest in Tuscaloosa's international student population to connect them to Christ and the local church community. Training and large events are hosted on Thursdays in a variety of homes across Tuscaloosa, but most serving opportunities vary throughout the week.

Events Team

Days to Serve:  Days Vary
Assist in the planning, logistics, and execution of Life Group parties, post-Well hangouts on Wednesday nights, or other events throughout the year. 

Media Team

Days to Serve: Varies
Tell the stories and capture the moments of our ministry through photo, video, writing, or graphic design. Regular serving times are listed above, but most serving opportunities vary throughout the week.

Worship Team

Days to Serve: Su, 9:00-12:00pm + W, 5:00-9:30pm
Serve on stage vocally or instrumentally, or behind the scenes with stage set up, lights, sound, etc. Additionally, most rehearsals take place on Sundays, 5:00-7:00pm

Connect Team

Days to Serve:  W, 7:00-10:00pm + Various
Create a welcoming environment that allows people to connect to Jesus and one another.

Prayer Team

Days to Serve: W, 7:00-7:45pm
Pray for our ministry/church, our campuses, our city, and the world before The Well in the chapel (adjacent to the main sanctuary entrance).

MinistrySafe

To ensure the safety of all volunteers and minors, The Well requires all volunteers serving at McKenzie Court and The Brown House to complete all five safety steps of MinistrySafe. The Well uses this third party for background checks, screening, policies and procedures, and training for volunteers to properly interact with minors.
